Introduction from the Creative Director
I can't quite believe we're back for our third year! But here we are, in the midst of pastoral farming country, enjoying the summer, fresh air, good company and, of course, fabulous poetry and spoken word from some of Canada's finest and most innovative poets. Every festival I try and include a taste of everything from the myriad forms that make up 'poetry' because I want our audiences to experience, and sometimes re-assess, how vibrant and exciting poetry can be. Each year we spotlight a form of poetry that is unusual and unexpected. This year we are presenting videopoems curated by Vancouver's Visible Verse, and putting an emphasis on poets who collaborate with musicians. All this in our delightful locations, the authentic Red School House and the quirky Stone Fence Theatre.
